Why the National 3-Design Awards exist
The National 3-Design Awards gives young designers ages 14–18 a serious national competition for original work, thoughtful process, and skilled making. Here we are creating a specific platform for design, giving more opportunities for those interested in design to be recognized and celebrated. High school students in grades 9–12 with exceptional skills in fashion design, costume or historical design, sustainable design, and fashion illustration should apply.
Open to eligible entrants across the United States and U.S. territories, the inaugural competition recognizes fashion design, costume design, sustainable design, and fashion illustration. Entries are evaluated for concept, development, craftsmanship, communication, and a distinct point of view.
Advisory boards
The National 3-Design Awards is supported by both an adult advisory board and a teen advisory board. If you are interested in joining either board, please email the awards team with your résumé and a brief explanation of your interest and relevant experience.
